1. Introduction
Freelance UAE is DMCC's license for independent professionals, issued to the individual rather than under an LLC or company structure. The license is applied for entirely through the Freelance UAE member portal, and a UAE Residence Visa can be obtained under this setup, subject to standard immigration approvals.
Membership benefits include DMCC networking and knowledge-sharing events, a listing in the Freelancer Directory, access to DMCC's business community of 24,000+ member companies, independent invoicing, and simplified bank account opening with DMCC's banking partner WIO.

2. Required Documents
The following documents are required from the client to submit the Freelance UAE License application:

The application process is entirely digital through the Freelance UAE member portal — document verification is completed via a recorded passport-verification video call, with no need to visit DMCC in person for the license itself.
Where a UAE Residence Visa is also requested, the client should plan to be present in the UAE to complete the medical examination and Emirates ID biometrics (see Processing Timeline).

All requirements, timelines and fees are subject to DMCC and UAE immigration approvals, and may vary based on the selected license activity and the client's residency status.
The InBusiness Professional Fee for the Residence Visa covers full assistance through the entire process, including coordination of the medical examination, Emirates ID biometrics, and all other required immigration procedures.
The Freelance License Authority Fee is payable annually on renewal.
4. Scope of License Services
Guidance on selecting the correct license activity in line with the client's profession, per DMCC's License Descriptions
Expression of interest with DMCC — account creation and provision of access to the Freelance UAE member portal
Completion and submission of the license application on the member portal, including entry of information, document upload and payment
Coordination of the passport-verification video call (recorded) required for document verification
Monitoring of the application through to license issuance, with confirmation as soon as DMCC approval is received
Assistance opening a bank account with DMCC's banking partner, WIO
Where a Freelance Residence Visa is requested: end-to-end coordination of the visa process — including the medical examination and Emirates ID biometrics appointments — with the client accompanied throughout
Guidance on Freelance UAE membership benefits, including DMCC networking and knowledge-sharing events, the Freelancer Directory listing, and access to DMCC's 24,000+ member business community
